Title:

Your Data, New Insights

Abstract:

Simulation and testing are invaluable tools for engineering. Techniques such as global sensitivity analysis and meta-modeling can help gain new insights from simulations and computer experiments, and help manage uncertainty early in the design process.

In this talk, Dr. David Anderson will cover several of these techniques, and discuss his experience in applying these techniques in projects to plan engineering R&D, discover manufacturing challenges, and direct engineering efforts with companies and organizations such as Collins Aerospace, Raytheon, DARPA, and several startups in the energy and aerospace sectors.

Bio:

Dr. David Anderson holds a bachelors in Mechanical and Ocean engineering from MIT and a doctorate in Design Automation from Singapore University of Technology and Design. He has spent the past decade developing and deploying software tools to assist engineering organizations in streamlining their internal processes, and is currently a postdoctoral researcher with the University of Maryland studying machine learning for engineering design. He is also the founder of Engora, a company which brings the power of design space exploration and generative design to all parts of the engineering process.
