INCOSE Professional Development Portal Initiative

Abstract:

This presentation describes the INCOSE Professional Development Portal (PDP) initiative.  The presentation starts by describing the origin and overall purpose of the PDP initiative.  Then it looks at the required essentials and wow factors for the Minimum Viable Service launch at IS2022 and beyond.  The presentation then explores the different taxonomies that help to categorize the content and make it quicker to find and access the learning resources.  The presentation wraps up by examining the various functions of the PDP which include searching and browsing the learning resources catalog and other pertinent websites, a competency-based self-assessment, and the “My Bookshelf” capability.

Bio:  

 

Dr. Don Gelosh is the Director of Systems Engineering Programs at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Gelosh has over 46 years of experience including 26 years serving in the US Air Force and post-retirement work in government, industry, and academia. Before coming to WPI, Dr. Gelosh was Deputy Director for Workforce Development in the Office of Systems Engineering at the Pentagon, Dean of Learning and Technology at the National Defense University, Deputy Department Head at the Air Force Institute of Technology and a member of NASA’s Vehicle Integration and Test Team supporting the Space Shuttle.  Dr. Gelosh holds a ESEP-Acquisition certification from INCOSE and is a member of the Washington Metro Area Chapter.  Dr. Gelosh also serves on the INCOSE Board of Directors as the Services Director.
