Title:

What’s your COVID-19 exposure risk on an elevator? Findings from a People & Systems Approach

Abstract:

Join us the evening of Tuesday, March 16, at 7:00 PM EDST to learn more about a people and systems approach to providing science-based information on ride elevators amid COVD-19. This webinar, hosted by the New England Chapter of INCOSE, will share an overview of findings from a scientific study from the Otis Elevator Company on how elevator air flow impacts exposure risk for passengers.

Done in collaboration with Dr. Qingyan (Yan) Chen, a leading indoor air quality expert and researcher at Purdue University, the study’s findings highlight three main factors that impact relative exposure risk inside a building’s elevators.

Stephen R. Nichols, an Associate Director of Systems Engineering at Otis and a NE INCOSE member of the Board of Directors, will show the findings, talk about the modeling approach, explain why elevators are one of the best ventilated spaces in a building, and cover recommendations to mitigate exposure risk in elevators.

The webinar will feature dedicated time for live Q&A.
